Dr. Pearl grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia. Because Warner Robins is an Air Force Town in Middle Georgia, growing up here exposed Dr. Pearl to people from all over the world as well as small town life. The Air Force demands exceptional public schools for its community, and Dr. Pearl excelled in this environment. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Georgia in two and a half years and then attended the Medical College of Georgia where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.). He then completed a five year general surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Pearl studied plastic Surgery at UT Memphis where he was the administrative chief resident. Memphis has one of the largest trauma centers in the nation and Dr. Pearl took advantage of every opportunity to learn and help these patients.

Along the way, Dr. Pearl has had the good fortune to work with and learn from some legends of plastic surgery. During his general surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia, he worked with Dr. Kenna Given, who is the only surgeon to be the president of the American Society of Plastic Surgery twice. During his fellowship, Dr. Pearl learned from Dr. Ed Luce and Dr. Robert Wallace. Dr. Luce has been the chairman of two different plastic surgery training programs and Dr. Wallace has been recognized in U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Doctors.”

During his time in private practice in Savannah as managing partner of the largest plastic surgery group in the area for over a decade, Dr. Pearl welcomed Dr. Harvey Zarem to his practice. Prior to joining Dr. Pearl, Dr. Zarem had been the chairman at UCLA and had been featured on the popular TV show “Extreme Makeover.” Dr. Zarem and Dr. Pearl shared similar views on surgery as well as life. They also shared a mutual admiration for each other’s commitment to plastic surgery. As a result, they developed a friendship and working relationship that defined both of their careers.

Dr. Pearl is a fixture in the Savannah community. He serves on the administrative board at Wesley Monumental Methodist Church and he supports the Savannah Children’s Theater. Dr. Pearl has a love of exotic cars that he developed at a young age, and today he continues that love as a member of the Oglethorpe Driving club. Like the town of Savannah itself, Dr. Pearl is decidedly Southern but is also considered a destination that travelers and patients seek out. Dr. Pearl’s compassion and expertise has resulted in a patient base that includes patients from all over the United States, South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
